灯台守 — Lighthouse Keeper

祖父の代わりに、凪は島の灯台を三十日だけ預かることになった。昼は釣りをして、浜で漂流物を拾い、魚油をつくる。日が傾いたら灯をともし、夜は灯室から光の筋で船を岩のあいだへ導く。本土の病院から届くおじいちゃんの手紙を読みながら、最後の霧の夜を待つ。

While her grandfather recovers in a hospital on the mainland, Nagi looks after his island lighthouse for its last thirty days before automation. Fish from the pier, gather driftwood on the beach and boil fish oil by day. Light the lamp at dusk, then climb to the lamp room and guide ships between the rocks with the beam. Read Grandpa's letters, and wait for the last foggy night.

할아버지 대신, 나기는 자동화를 앞둔 섬 등대를 마지막 30일 동안 맡게 됐다. 낮에는 낚시를 하고 해변에서 표류물을 줍고 어유를 만든다. 노을이 지면 불을 켜고, 밤에는 등롱실에서 광선으로 배를 암초 사이로 이끈다.
